We started developing interactive videos in 2014, and our first 360 video production was an immersive Renault Clio virtual test drive experience. This formed part of the infamous Va Va Voom campaign which generated 6 million views. Over the past three years we’ve continually refined our approach to creating immersive 360 video experiences. By working alongside brands as diverse as Renault and Pepsi Max we’ve certainly been kept busy. Our approach requires us to draw on the full range of expertise we have across the Scorch team. This includes our strategists, creative teams, gamification experts, producers, animators, editors and directors. Every part of the team is critically important in 360 video production that works.
The starting point is for our strategists is to help our clients determine precisely what the video needs to achieve. We then clarify how the 360 video experience can be used to meet the objectives. Once the strategy is clear we then work as multi-disciplinary team to identify relevant creative approaches. These must answer the questions of how and why a viewer would choose to interact with the 360 video. Our experience in creating highly engaging social video is very important in helping us ensure a similarly strong approach is defined for every video. We also ensure the immersive experience 360 video can provide deepens consumer engagement with the brand itself rather than just leaning on the video format. VR Video Production
Only when we’ve defined the creative approach and thinking behind the viewer interactions we are working to achieve, will we move into full VR production. This will either be through a live shoot using a 360 rig, through an entirely animated approach, or a combination of the two. Whichever approach we follow, we will always ensure the finished film attains the highest standard of finish. Creating a flawless VR video requires expertise in stitching the footage together. Every video we create is seamlessly stitched into a perfect sphere.
