GBWBA first approached us to produce a video to help raise awareness of the sport as something accessible for all ages, genders and abilities. After speaking with them and finding out more about the sport and some of the people who work there, we knew we had to go the extra mile and produce an epic film that reflected the hard work and dedication all of the people we met show.

Going the extra mile is what video production is all about

So it was time to mobilise the friends of Scorch! Once we told them about what we were doing they were eager to jump on board and get involved. With our incredibly talented sporting stars ready and willing to play hard and fast, we knew we needed to put our money where our mouths were, and get the best kit available… if only to be able to keep up with the team!

We were able to secure discounted rates on equipment from the incredible team at VMI, get some very talented crew to donate their time and pull in a few favours with none other than The XX who generously allowed us to use their music as soundtrack.

Despite having access to the Gold Medal winning GB Squad, including Ade Adepitan who features in the video, we didn’t keep the focus solely on them. We wanted to show the sport was accessible for all skill levels and it wasn’t a game just for the professionals.

We were also keen to show the grit and determination needed to play the fast moving sport, so we shot the footage on a Phantom Flex to capture the atmosphere in stunning slow motion. We then composited tracked graphics onto the slow motion footage to highlight the player’s credentials as well as emphasising the reasons for playing the game.

The result? An amazing day out, a stunning film, and a very happy client!
